Privacy Policy

ArtPatt (“we,” “us”) provides free and paid tools that turn photos into printable craft patterns at artpatt.com. This policy explains what data we collect, why, and how you can control it.

Your photos and generated patterns

Pattern generation happens entirely in your browser. When you upload a photo, it is loaded into your browser's memory and processed there — pixelation, color matching, dithering, and PDF rendering all run on your device. We do not receive or store your photo just because you generated a preview.

If you choose to save a pattern to your account, a thumbnail (and, depending on the craft, the source image) is uploaded and stored in our database so you can find it again later. This only happens when you explicitly click Save — never automatically.

Account information

When you create an account, we collect:

• Your name and email address
• If you sign up with Google, your Google profile name, email, and avatar image
• If you sign up with email/password, a securely hashed password (we never store your password in plain text)
• Basic session data — IP address and browser user-agent — used to keep you signed in and to protect your account from abuse

Payments

Purchases (single-pattern unlocks and Pro subscriptions) are processed by Polar, our payment processor. We do not see or store your full card details — Polar handles that directly. We send Polar your email, name, and account ID so it can create the checkout and match the payment back to your account; guest (not signed in) purchases have Polar collect your email directly on its checkout page.

Analytics and error tracking

We use SourceBeam for privacy-conscious product analytics and error monitoring — it tells us which pages and features are used and helps us catch bugs. This includes page views, general product-usage events (for example, that a pattern was generated), and technical details like browser type and approximate location (country-level). We do not use analytics to build advertising profiles or sell your data to third parties.

Cookies and local storage

We use a first-party cookie to keep you signed in. Our analytics provider may use cookies or local storage to recognize repeat visits and measure product usage. You can block or clear cookies in your browser settings; doing so may sign you out or affect some site functionality.

Email

We send account emails (email verification, purchase receipts, pattern-ready notices) through Resend. We may also send a short welcome series and occasional reminders about patterns you started or an abandoned checkout. Every non-transactional email includes an unsubscribe option, and you can also email us at any time to opt out.

How we share data

We don't sell your personal data. We share data only with the service providers named above (Polar for payments, SourceBeam for analytics/error tracking, Resend for email, Google for sign-in), each acting on our behalf to run the product, and only as needed for them to do their job. We may also disclose information if required by law.

Your choices

• You can delete a saved pattern from your account at any time.
• You can request a copy of your data, or full account deletion, by emailing us — see below.
• You can unsubscribe from marketing emails at any time.

Children's privacy

ArtPatt is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13.

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy as the product changes. We'll update the “last updated” date above when we do. If a change is significant, we'll make a reasonable effort to let existing account holders know.
